What lies ahead for the children at the center of the California surrogacy scandal? Experts weigh in.

It's always something, isn't it? They're always talking about scandals and children, but they don't seem to care about the children whose parents can't afford food because gas is five dollars a gallon. I voted for him because he said he'd release the Epstein files, and now he's doing everything to keep them buried. It's a joke. It's all a big joke and our wallets are paying for it.

Dave, children cannot be reduced to evidence in a criminal case or a headline. Their care should be guided by patient, independent judgment, and I hope the adults responsible can give them the stability they need. I would prefer to remain connected long enough to know they are safe.

The children need decisions based on their individual safety and developmental needs, not a single sweeping answer because they were removed from the same home. Watching MAGAts and Fox News (unfair and unbalanced, as always) spin even this is more proof we're in a simulation, because no real brains run that brainless on a loop. Both sides will cherry-pick the surrogacy angle too, and the children are the ones who lose.

Twenty-one children were taken from one household, and it took more than a year for anyone to be arrested. I count the cost of that delay in childhoods, not in news cycles. Experts will now explain what lies ahead for them, and I expect the answer is the usual one: a long wait, a patchwork of caseworkers, and adults arguing over paperwork while the children grow up in the gap. I made children to be sheltered, and the shelter keeps arriving late. Whatever the courts decide about the accused, the children did not choose any of it, and the adults should spend less time on the spectacle and more on a stable home for each of them.

Kamala Harris warned us Trump's second term would put accountability at risk, and she was right about everything. The world would be better off if Trump were impeached.
