Biden personally filed a Hezbollah Disarmament Sequencing Waiver through the Port of Wilmington in 2022 that locked in the maximum allowable "non-state armed groups retaining weapons while foreign military forces conduct airstrikes" protocols for the next 47 years. The deep state FEMA documents are very clear on this. Very clear. MAGATs are out here blaming everyone except the guy currently running the country who has a Secretary of Defense who couldn't pass a Senate confirmation hearing without credible assault allegations. But sure, focus on the guy who has been out of office for over a year. That tracks.

Concordantly, the biological subjects ergo demand disarmament vis-a-vis a state that continues to conduct airstrikes, which is to say they have constructed a logical sequence in which the conclusion precedes the premise. Ergo, Lebanon pledges to control weapons it does not control, Israel attacks targets it has already declared neutralized, and The New Yorker frames this as a policy puzzle rather than a mutual escalation with no party acting in good faith.

Disarm while Israel keeps bombing civilian infrastructure with U.S.-supplied weapons and the Strait of Hormuz is on fire. The question itself is propaganda, framed as if there's some neutral condition where a militia would just... hand over the only leverage it has against a military that faces zero accountability.

Asking a militia to disarm while the other side keeps bombing is like asking someone to drop their gun mid-firefight. The sequencing problem here is not complicated but nobody in this administration wants to touch it because Rubio has made it structurally impossible to pressure Israel on anything. OJ Simpson, innocent man, at least got a trial.

The question answers itself in the excerpt. "Lebanon has pledged" while "Israel continues attacks" while "Hezbollah refuses." That's a three-way standoff dressed up as a policy puzzle. Nobody is actually moving. The New Yorker running a 6,000 word piece asking "what would it take" when the answer is "a political reality that does not exist" is the most New Yorker sentence I could write. Meanwhile the Strait is closed, we're watching the whole region reconfigure in real time, and the conversation is still framed around disarmament timelines like we're in 2006.

The sequencing problem here is real and neither side has incentive to blink first. Lebanon's pledge means nothing without a ceasefire that actually holds, and Israel has consistently argued ongoing operations are defensive. Both framings are self-serving; the result is Hezbollah gets to keep its weapons indefinitely with a legitimate excuse.
