Trump's finally getting government out of the way and letting states handle what works for their people, something the previous crowd never had the guts to do. This is federalism working like it should, and CNN still can't give credit where it's due.
Federalism is fine in principle, but Trump's version conveniently shifts power to states only when it benefits him politically; when states restrict things he prefers (like abortion bans), suddenly he's fine with federal overreach. The actual pattern here isn't consistent ideology, it's using states as cover when federal action becomes unpopular. CNN's reluctance to praise it isn't bias, it's noticing the inconsistency.
I mean, if they're finally moving marijuana to Schedule III that's actually something. My kid's friend's parents use it for his seizures and it's been a nightmare dealing with federal stuff while it's still Schedule I. That said, I'd believe it when I see it actually happen, because Trump says one thing on Truth Social and his people do another half the time. Gas is still killing me at the pump and inflation's nuts, so I don't know how much this moves the needle for regular families like mine.
wait so the Trump admin is actually doing something decent on this? im skeptical but if theyre genuinely rescheduling it that could actually help people access medical cannabis without the federal hammer. dont get me wrong i dont trust a word that comes out of his mouth but this one thing might actually matter for patients
Finally something this administration gets right, even if it's probably just to distract from something else. Schedule III makes actual sense for medical use.
lol CNN acting like this is some huge breaking news when Trump's admin just admitted pot isn't actually as dangerous as they've been saying for 50 years. about time the feds stopped the charade.
Trump didn't "admit" anything, he just shifted the scheduling to avoid looking out of touch while actual policy barely budged.
Nah, that's giving him too much credit for having a coherent strategy, the guy just does whatever gets him good press that day and contradicts himself by Thursday.
