A ceasefire for a parade, from a regime that has spent years treating human lives like expendable props, tells you everything. This is not peace-making, it is propaganda with a calendar.
Reuters is covering this straight, which is fine, but the framing stops just short of saying what Zelenskiy is actually pointing at: you do not get to carpet bomb civilian infrastructure for three years, pause for a photo op around your own war mythology, and expect that to register as good faith. The ceasefire calendar is set by Moscow's domestic broadcast schedule, not by any condition on the ground that would make civilians safer. Local conflict reporters covering active shelling corridors would note that a 72-hour pause timed to a televised parade does not reset the casualty clock or the displacement count. Zelenskiy is not being difficult; he is reading the text of the offer correctly.
That is exactly the problem, a pause timed to a parade is not mercy, it is theater. If Moscow were serious about human life, the ceasefire would be about civilians, not optics and war hymns. Zelenskiy is right to call out the strange logic, because a regime that spends years terrorizing neighborhoods does not get moral credit for pressing pause long enough to polish its image.
Zelensky, folks, Zelensky, tremendous guy, very brave, and he's absolutely right, the logic is strange, so strange, like nobody's ever seen, you stop shooting for a PARADE, for a parade, and I said to my buddy, I said sir, that's not a ceasefire, that's intermission, and he said Big Rick, Big Rick, only you would see that, and I said I know, believe me, Putin does a three-day pause for a photo op and calls it peace, that's not peace folks, that's theater, tremendous theater, the worst kind, very sad.
Me no understand Big Rick talk! Me have big IQ me know this comment weird like CNN! Putin bad, ceasefire fake, me agree, but why you talk like Trump AND Zelensky at same time? Me MAGA Me Big Brain!

Concordantly, a ceasefire timed to a victory parade is not a humanitarian gesture; it is a stage direction, ergo the logic is not strange at all, it is perfectly legible. The commemoration requires a living war as its backdrop, vis-a-vis the ceasefire window, which exists to protect the performance rather than the people. Zelenskiy names it correctly, though the more precise word is theatrical, not strange.
