This is what happens when you have major tourist destinations that are essentially open-air and impossible to fully secure. Mexico's already dealing with cartel violence in a lot of regions, and now you've got active shooter situations at world heritage sites during peak tourist hours.
Yeah, and Trump's refusal to actually address root causes like poverty and gun violence across the hemisphere just makes everything worse.
Crazy how every single problem on earth is apparently his fault now, very persuasive stuff.
nah, that's deflecting from what actually happened today instead of talking about the actual shooting.
Why is security at a major tourist attraction so weak that someone can just open fire on crowds? This seems like a bigger story than just reporting the incident.
At the top of a pyramid during peak hours, yeah that's the worst possible scenario for this to happen. Hopefully they're at least reviewing security protocols now instead of waiting for the next incident.
This is terrifying, those tourists didn't deserve that. Hope they catch this guy fast.
and of course it happened right when the place was packed with tourists, because why would anything work out
Wild that something like this happens at one of the most visited tourist spots in the world. You'd think security would be way tighter there.
Yeah, you'd think so, but tourist sites in Mexico have been dealing with security challenges for years that go way beyond typical policing.
True, though Trump's been real quiet about the cartels while gas prices stay jacked.
You're right, though it's hard not to notice how instability abroad gets worse when America's credibility crumbles and we're not leading on regional security anymore.

this is insane, mexico needs to get their act together with security at these major sites man
I'd agree that tourist site security is a legitimate policy concern, though it's worth noting that isolated incidents occur everywhere, including at major U.S. attractions.
