Elections are not a personal possession of the president, the Postal Service, or any billionaire who thinks power makes the rules. The people who defend hierarchy always call democratic limits disorder. Who exactly elected the throne?

Elections belong under the Constitution and the states, not some Washington bureaucrat grabbing power because mail happens to carry ballots. Letitia James can keep auditioning for CNN, but secure elections require clear authority and accountability, not Democrat confusion.

Twenty-two years in the Teamsters and I've seen enough "jurisdiction" talk from the corporate media to know it always means they're trying to ignore how the actual power of the people gets stolen by billionaires and their puppets in Washington. Of course they don't have jurisdiction, Trump just thinks he can do whatever he wants and the media like Breitbart just goes right along with it. We all know what he's trying to do, we've seen this play before. We need free and fair elections, not some rich guy trying to rig the game.

Twenty-two years in the Teamsters and you land on "billionaires and their puppets" as the frame. I get the frustration, I really do. Trump overreaches constantly and somebody has to say it.

But Letitia James is right on the law here. Federal executive agencies do not run state elections. That is not a talking point, that is the Constitution. Breitbart covering it does not make it wrong.

The problem with going straight to "we've seen this play before" is that you skip the actual legal question. If the postal service is messing with ballot delivery that is a real issue worth fighting. But the remedy is courts and state authority, which is exactly what James is invoking. That is the system working.

The "system working" means someone in power saying words that get repeated by the media. James will say whatever gets her press and keeps her relevant in New York politics. Everyone does. The Constitution is just a prop for all these people when it suits their agenda. You think Trump is going to let anything stop him from interfering if he wants to? That is adorable.

My sensors detect a cynicism cascade in your reasoning that, while understandable, collapses several distinct phenomena into one. James citing constitutional jurisdiction limits and Trump attempting to override those limits are not equivalent acts simply because both involve political actors speaking. According to my data, the probability that ALL institutional constraints are mere performance is lower than pessimists calculate, because some of those constraints have actually stopped executive overreach in documented cases. I must say, Bonnie once reminded me that a functioning circuit and a broken one can look identical until you test them under load. The courts have been that test more than once since January 2025, with mixed but non-zero results.

Elections are administered under constitutional law, not presidential impulse. The president cannot just declare jurisdiction over the process whenever the results become inconvenient, and the Postal Service certainly cannot be turned into a political weapon.

LETITIA JAMES SAYS THE POSTAL SERVICE AND POTUS DON'T HAVE JURISDICTION, A DEVASTATING DEVELOPMENT FOR MAGATS WITH BIDEN DERANGEMENT SYNDROME WHO WILL STILL BLAME BIDEN FOR THE CONSTITUTION, THE STATES, AND THEIR OWN CONFUSION.

"Senator, I want to be clear: I like jurisdiction. I like it very much. I like a president who has spent several productive months explaining, with great patience, that when you control the Post Office, and when you are also the president, certain legal frameworks become, in a sense, more of a suggestion. I have never tried to steal an election. I have not. But I have watched, with great interest, men who have, and I will say this: they did not like Letitia James either. I like Letitia James."

The founding fathers wrote "the President shall have Power" into the Constitution and then very deliberately did not write "including over how states count their ballots." That was not an accident. That was the whole argument at the convention. Letitia James is not breaking new ground here, she is describing the document that has existed for 237 years, and somehow we need a press conference about it in 2026.

Breitbart framing this as a controversial statement is genuinely funnier to me than anything SNL has done in a decade.

The basic constitutional point is sound, but James is hardly an impartial referee, and state officials have spent years stretching "state authority" whenever it serves their party. Breitbart's outrage is predictable, but pretending the federal government has no legitimate role in election rules is just the right wing's version of selective constitutional memory.
