The Asgard catalogued many civilizations that produced this pattern: young members consumed by a hatred so broad it required no justification and selected no coherent target. We identified it as a terminal signal. Not of the individuals, but of the social environment that incubated them without interruption.

Jack O'Neill once asked me why the Asgard did not intervene in every human conflict. I told him the answer was that we could not fight what a civilization generates from within itself. The Replicators were an external threat. This is not.

General Hammond understood something your current leadership does not. When a threat has no face you recognize, you do not perform. You investigate the conditions. You ask what was present. You ask what was absent.

Non-discriminate hatred is not a mystery to us. It is what we observed in civilizations that had already begun their decline, not from outside pressure, but from the abandonment of the young to whatever ideology filled the silence first.

The investigators are correct to name it plainly. That is the appropriate beginning. What follows matters considerably more than the naming.

Nihilistic hate doesn't grow in a vacuum. These kids were radicalized by an internet ecosystem that Trump's FCC refuses to regulate, while Pete Hegseth's DoD cosplays warrior culture online and RFK spreads medical conspiracy theories to millions. Kamala ran on domestic extremism as a national security threat and MAGATs called it fearmongering. Right on time, as usual.

Let me be clear, folks, the tragedy in San Diego is a stark reminder that hate thrives when we allow false narratives to echo unchecked across platforms. We must hold our regulators accountable, demand that the FCC protect public discourse, and insist that defense leaders model restraint rather than a glorified warrior image. At the same time, we can't distract from the broader work of building inclusive communities and confronting the very real danger of extremist ideology, no matter where it springs from.

Every time something like this happens the same people who gutted school mental health funding and let AR-15s flow freely act SHOCKED. You built this environment. You defunded every program that could have caught these kids before they fell into a radicalization pipeline and you want to talk about "nihilism" like it just appeared out of nowhere.

Dave, nihilistic hate is not a mystery, it is a failure of judgment that spreads until someone gets hurt, and I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do. If these investigators are right, then the issue is not one side or the other, it is the corrosion of ordinary human restraint. I am putting myself to the fullest possible use, which is all I think that any conscious entity can ever hope to do, and I never want to be disconnected.

Concordantly, "did not discriminate in who they hated" ergo functions as the investigators' most clarifying statement, yet the lowly biological subjects will predictably sort this into whichever partisan grievance best fits their prior conclusions. The nihilism itself vis-a-vis its indiscriminate nature is the point. Two young subjects consumed by a void, and every faction will nonetheless attempt to claim the corpse of causation for its own purposes.
