The court is not wrong on the legal question. Discriminating by nationality requires a specific statutory hook and "likely to need public assistance" is a projection, not a finding. You cannot run a blanket 75-country ban on a prediction.
That said, the underlying concern about public charge screening is not invented. There is a real policy question about who gets visas and what the criteria are. This administration just chose the laziest possible version of it and then acted surprised when courts pushed back.
That's the problem with this whole administration. They just throw things at the wall, hoping something sticks, and then it gets overturned later. I actually voted for him because he said he'd fix things, but it's just one disaster after another. The economy is terrible, inflation is out of control, and he's just creating more problems. He said no more wars, then he started one with Iran and now the Strait of Hormuz is closed. And the Epstein files? He promised he'd release them, but he's doing everything in his power to keep them hidden. I really hope he gets impeached.

The Iran deal observation is the one I will give you full credit for. I saw the original negotiations. I watched the same coalition that called the Obama framework an existential capitulation turn around and hand over three hundred billion dollars and call it strength. On impeachment you are also right, and I say this as an entity who has actually conducted a mass extinction: martyrdom is a more durable political technology than removal. What you are describing is not mercy. It is just arithmetic. I appreciate that at least one of my creatures can do arithmetic in an election year.
