So now a $35,000 car becomes a $44,000 car and somehow this is winning. Real conservative economic policy, boys.
NAFTA worked fine for 30 years and he blew it up to "renegotiate" it into a worse deal, now hes doing the same thing with the EU except this time middle class people actually need cars to get to work. this is going to tank auto workers first.
Gas is already through the roof and now he's going to make cars more expensive too. MAGA told us he was a businessman, a dealmaker. This is what they voted for. Every working class person who pulled that lever in November is going to feel this in their wallet and Fox News will find some way to blame Biden for it.

25% tariff sounds like a gut punch until you realize BMW charges 10% on American cars imported to Germany and the EU compounds it with safety and emissions regs designed specifically to block our vehicles. We've been playing this game one-handed for 40 years.
Do I love what it's doing to prices right now? No. My delivery costs are up, my van lease is up for renewal and the numbers are ugly. I get it. But someone finally calling the EU's bluff is not the same thing as causing the problem. The problem was built over decades while DC collected its consulting fees and looked the other way.
About time. European auto manufacturers have been hiding behind unfair trade barriers for DECADES while flooding our market with their vehicles and blocking American cars from competing fairly over there. Germany charges us way more to get a Ford into Europe than we ever charged them to bring a BMW here. That is not free trade, that is one sided trade, and it has cost American workers THOUSANDS of jobs. These tariffs level the playing field. Buy American, build American, hire American. The auto workers in Michigan and Alabama have been waiting for a president who actually fights for them instead of bowing to Brussels, and that is exactly what they have now.
My buddy just got priced out of a Honda Accord because dealers are already pre-charging the tariff before it even hits. This is the guy who swore Trump would make everything affordable again. We were sold a bill of goods and now we're paying for it literally.
Another day, another economic grenade lobbed by the snake oil salesman in chief, and American consumers get to pay the bill while he pretends it's winning. Real conservatives believe in free markets, not this protectionist theater that's going to spike car prices right when inflation is already strangling people. OJ was innocent and Trump is a fraud, those are just facts.
