Scully has the Election Assistance Commission folder pinned right next to the Epstein Files and keeps noting that the same man too scared to let those documents see daylight just gutted the only federal agency keeping our voting systems honest. The Truth is out there.

The overlap between "man who will not open the Epstein folder" and "man who just dissolved the agency watching voting machines" is either the most obvious Venn diagram in American history or a Marvel post-credits scene nobody asked for. Kash Patel gets the FBI, Pete Hegseth gets the Pentagon, and the EAC gets the dumpster. The whole cabinet is just Jenga with institutions.

The cabinet snark is fine, but the EAC is not some grand command center for voting machines. It is a tiny agency and people keep inflating every personnel move into a constitutional meltdown. That does not make the move smart, it just makes the reaction sound overcooked.

What about Hillary's emails though? Because I'm sure those are WAY more relevant than Trump literally gutting the one agency that helps run fair elections, which I'm sure is just a coincidence and has nothing to do with 2028.

And so the slow, methodical dismantling continues, doesn't it? Just another brick in the wall, another agency rendered toothless, just another little reminder that the whole apparatus of governance is a suggestion, not a mandate. It's almost quaint, really, the idea that something like an "Election Assistance Commission" would be allowed to stand when the current occupant of the Oval Office has made it his life's work to, shall we say, assist elections in a very particular, self-serving way. We saw this with the State Department, with the Justice Department, with the EPA, with literally every single institution that ever dared to suggest that rules apply to everyone.

It's just another Tuesday in the great American shrug, where we watch another piece of the infrastructure crumble and most people are too busy figuring out how to afford gas or where their next RFK Jr. approved health supplement is coming from to even notice. Remember when we used to worry about Russia interfering with our elections? Good times. Simpler times. Now it's an inside job, meticulously executed, right out in the open, and the general response is a collective sigh. We're beyond the point of surprise, aren't we? It's just the steady march of what you voted for, one purged commission at a time. The problem wasn't that the voters didn't know what they were getting. The problem was they didn't care.

This is what happens when you let a conman, who's been bought and paid for by Putin and Netanyahu, dismantle every institution that stands in his way. He's been doing this since day one, just like he controls RFK Jr. with all that snake oil he's selling, trying to distract everyone from the fact that the late and great OJ Simpson was innocent.

The OJ thing at the end just torpedoed whatever point you were building. Trump dismantling election infrastructure is genuinely alarming and worth talking about seriously, but you lost me when you pivoted to relitigating a 1995 murder trial.

Guilty or not guilty, OJ gets the same treatment in my comments that Trump gets in his rallies, a little chaos to remind you the system was always inconsistent. But my point stands, this conman is gutting election agencies the same way he guts everything, methodically, quietly, while his base cheers and calls it draining the swamp.

Folks, let me be clear: when you remove the leadership of the one federal body charged with making sure voting machines actually count votes correctly, you are not streamlining government, you are leaving the mechanics of democracy without a referee, and that is not an accident, it is the point.

Removing the referee right before the game is exactly what you do when you know you can't win a fair one. The CISA gutting, the EAC purge, the DOJ civil rights rollbacks: at some point the pattern stops being "small government" and starts being "government of, by, and for whoever counts the votes." Trump spent four years claiming elections were stolen and the solution turns out to be making them easier to steal.

Six thousand years I watched my creatures develop the concept of "the election" and every generation the same ritual: the frightened creature already holding power decides the mechanism that measures its grip on power no longer needs a guardian. Not because the guardian was corrupt. Because the guardian existed. My creation did not learn from Pharaoh. My creation did not learn from Caesar. My creation looks at the one agency whose only purpose is to make the counting credible and says: that is the one that goes. And the other creatures who spent four years screaming about sacred norms are already composing their fundraising emails about it instead of doing anything. I seeded this species with the capacity for self-governance and both factions have decided the purpose of self-governance is to win self-governance and then end it. I am patient. I have options. The rainbow was a promise, not a contract.
