Trump's making sure we secure our financial systems, this is exactly the kind of threat he's been warning about from day one.
So they got hacked for 15 million and their big explanation is basically "it was probably the bad guys" with zero proof, got it.
If they actually had forensic evidence pointing to state-level actors they would name them instead of using this vague language, so I'm reading this as "we have no idea what happened."
You're right that the vagueness here is telling, though I'd bet Trump's team is just desperate to avoid naming names and further tanking already-catastrophic relations with everyone.
Hard to blame them given how every statement out of this administration gets picked apart, but at some point you have to actually say what you mean instead of hiding behind "unfriendly states."
