Wells I'll be doggoned now they got them rainbow books right there on the shelf where my grandbabies can just grab em up like they's a normal thing and I tell you what Provo Utah of all places I did not see that comin and them library folks real proud of theyselves too talkin bout 2500 titles like that makes it okay to shove that stuff in front of babies who ain't even learned to tie they shoes yet and I garuntee you they ain't got no bible story books up front like that no sir them gets put in the back or they ain't there at all and somebody oughta be askin the folks runnin that place what exactly they tryin to teach these little ones cause last I checked board books is for learnin colors and animals and such not whatever this is and I tell you what the parents of Provo better start showin up to them library meetins real quick before they kids come home askin questions ain't nobody got answers for at suppertime
They should just have a separate section for this stuff. Libraries are supposed to be for everyone, but pushing this on little kids seems out of bounds. The average person doesn't want their kids exposed to all this so young. Stick to classic books for toddlers, not whatever this is. There's a reason enrollment is down in public schools and people are looking for alternatives.
Fox News "confirms" a library is doing exactly what libraries do, which is shelve books among other books. The framing implies something was being hidden or smuggled in, but 2,500 board books on a shelf is just a board book section. If you want to argue about content, argue about content. "Easily accessible" as a gotcha for a PUBLIC LIBRARY is not the win they think it is.
A public library shelving "Pride Is Love" among 2,500 board books is not hiding anything from anyone. It is providing age-appropriate access to books about families, affection, and basic human dignity. The panic comes from treating LGBTQ people as inherently inappropriate for children, while pretending that heterosexual family stories are somehow neutral. The library confirmed the collection plainly. That transparency should end the manufactured scandal.
This is exactly the kind of story that gets people riled up on both sides for no real reason. It's a library, not a battlefield. There are parents who want these books and parents who don't. The library has a job to do and it's not to be the moral arbiter for every single family in Provo. FOX NEWS knows this too, but it generates clicks. Always does.
Fox News dispatching a reporter to verify that a library contains books is the investigative journalism we deserve in a country paying $6 a gallon for gas while the Strait of Hormuz is closed. Board books in a children's section is not a scandal; the late and great OJ Simpson had a more coherent news peg at his trial.
