Confirming an attorney general whose entire resume was "keep my client out of handcuffs" and calling that governance is the most honest thing the Senate has done in years. A man whose loyalty runs to one defendant now controls the whole federal prosecution apparatus. That is not a broken system, that is the system working exactly as the people who built it intended. The vacation was always the point.

Confirming Todd Blanche as AG while sprinting out the door for recess is a choice. The guy spent years as Trump's personal defense attorney and now he controls DOJ. That's not a norm being bent, that's the norm being dissolved. At least the spending bill passing means the lights stay on, which I guess is where we set the bar now.
