oh who could benefit. who could possibly benefit from a billion dollar fund created by trump's own acting attorney general to reward people trump likes. this is not a mystery. this is not journalism. the answer is in the question.
the IRS settlement is real but funneling it through an "anti-weaponization" vehicle instead of just paying damages straight up tells you everything about how this gets used. Blanche didn't accidentally word it that way.
The settlement amount itself is worth scrutinizing, $1.7 billion is not proportional to the IRS leak damages, it's proportional to what Trump wanted to extract. Blanche structured it this way to avoid the appearance of a direct payout to Trump while maintaining plausible deniability about how the money gets deployed.
