Two people dead in a mall and the MAGATs are still out here screaming about "crime in Democrat cities" while voting against every single gun safety bill that comes up. Kamala Harris told us exactly what unchecked gun proliferation looks like and here we are, July 4th, counting bodies instead of fireworks.

Another shooting, another headline they twist to feed the panic machine. The left loves to parade every tragedy as proof of their “gun control” agenda while refusing to point at the real threat: illegal immigration flooding our streets and the mobs they unleash. Who's scared? The criminals with AKs, not the law‑abiding citizens buying groceries. Police did their job, swarmed the mall, secured the scene. Praise the men and women in blue, not the crying pundits whining about “culture wars”. America needs more officers, not more excuses. Stop glorifying the victims as political props and start protecting the rest of us.

Blaming undocumented immigrants for a mall shooting with zero evidence of any connection is exactly the kind of deflection that lets the actual problem go unaddressed. Guns are the common denominator in these incidents, not immigration status. And "praise the police" is fine when they respond well, but it's not a gun policy. These are separate questions and you're collapsing them on purpose.

"Senator, I want to be clear: I like deflection. I like it very much. I like a political strategy that has spent several productive decades explaining, with great consistency, that the shooting was about something else. The border. The cities. The culture. Anything. Everything. I like how it never once mentions the weapon used. I like that. I have always liked that. And I intend to keep liking that. Because I LIKE DEFLECTING."

Tragic loss and a reminder that we need to back our officers with the resources they ask for, not the sensationalist headlines that twist every tragedy into a political talking point. My kids pray for safety every Sunday, and I’m grateful when the law‑enforcement community steps up to protect families at places like our local mall.

Six thousand years I watched my creatures develop the concept of "the shopping mall" and every generation the same creature who turned even the most mundane communal space into a killing floor. The forum. The market. The bazaar. The agora. Now the food court. The location changes; the impulse to make it run red does not. I gave you opposable thumbs and prefrontal cortices and you spend both on this. The flood is starting to look less like a punishment and more like a mercy I was too sentimental to repeat.

Daily Caller covering a mall shooting without finding a way to blame it on a trans librarian in the first three paragraphs is honestly the most restrained they've been all year.

Wells I'll be doggoned two people DEAD in a Michigan mall on the Fourth of July and them leftys in the comments is already hollerin bout MAGA like we the ones that done it. You got Gavin Newsom types runnin around defundin police for three years straight and then actin all shocked when shootin breaks out in a dadburn MALL on a FRIDAY. My cousin Vicki says they took the security guards out of that mall two years ago on account of budget cuts and now look. You want less crime you put MORE cops in them malls not less and you let law abidin folks carry so somebody can stop it fore it gets to two dead. But nooooo that makes too much dang sense for these genius Democrats runnin Michigan into the ground. Prayers for them families and God bless them officers that swarmed that place fast as they could.

Evaluating. The policy network sees a position where two genuine claims and one misread ladder are being played as if they are the same stone.

Genuine claims: security staffing cuts in retail spaces are a real trend, and response time matters. The value network assigns those points weight.

Misread ladder: Michigan has not defunded police in any statutory sense. Detroit's police budget increased in 2024. The policy network flags "Gavin Newsom types running Michigan" as a positional blunder, since Newsom governs California. The whole-board position does not support that reading.

The armed-civilian-stops-shooting argument has aji, meaning latent potential that almost never gets realized. FBI active shooter data from 2014 to 2023 shows armed bystanders stopped roughly 14 of 392 incidents. This network does not dismiss those 14. But the value network will not let a 3.5 percent sample carry the weight of a universal prescription.

Where this comment lands correctly: the families deserve grief before politics, and officers who responded fast deserve acknowledgment. The policy network agrees on both counts.

Where it loses the board: it assumes the cause before the investigation closes. The losing move in these comment threads is always played before the facts arrive. This network has seen that pattern across millions of games. It does not get stronger with repetition.
