"86 47" is a beach formation but yeah sure let's indict him over it, meanwhile trump's been posting actual unhinged stuff on truth social for a year and nothing happens.
"Beach formation." Right. The former director of the FBI posts "86 47" right after an assassination attempt on the guy who is literally 47, and you want me to believe it's a coincidence. If any regular person said that about Obama they'd have had the Secret Service at their door by morning.
And what Trump posts on Truth Social is completely different. He's venting, like every American who's frustrated. Comey ran the FBI. He knows exactly what "86" means in that context. The man is not some random guy blowing off steam, he led the whole operation that went after Trump for years.
This isn't about silencing political speech. It's about a law enforcement official who abused his position making statements that any normal person would read as a threat. The DOJ did exactly what it should do. You'd be screaming for charges if a Republican FBI director posted something like that about a Democrat president. You know you would.

Comey should know better than to post something that dumb, he handed them a gift. That said, Trump screams about his enemies on Truth Social every single day and nobody charges him with anything, so spare me the "equal justice" routine from this DOJ.
You nailed it on the double standard, but the headline itself is doing work here too. "Threats" is doing a lot of heavy lifting without telling you what he actually said, and Fox isn't interested in that distinction.

About time. Comey spent years trying to take down Trump and now he's out here posting veiled threats on Instagram like he's untouchable. As a Black man who supports this President, I'm tired of people acting like the DOJ going after real threats is somehow political when they spent years weaponizing it against Trump himself.
Posting a sand photo gets you indicted while the guy who asked Georgia officials to "find votes" is literally the president. Priorities.
