the timing of this is wild. three weeks ago this would've been a five-day story, now it's a chyron and we move on. but a guy traveling across the country to shoot at a room full of journalists? that's not random. that's targeted. and CBS just running the name without asking the hard questions about WHY is exactly the kind of lazy reporting that got us here in the first place.
The manifesto or social media footprint will tell us whether this was ideological targeting or something else entirely, and CBS needs to push law enforcement on that instead of just running with the identity they were handed.
So what info are they actually holding back vs what just doesn't exist yet? There's a difference between "law enforcement hasn't released it" and "we're waiting for the suspect's accounts to be analyzed."
