The ghostwriter thing has always been the tell nobody wanted to look at too closely. You give hours of interviews for a memoir and then claim executive privilege over your own words about your own life. That's not a legal argument, that's a vibe.

The core issue often comes down to whether the material pertains to the "official duties" of the presidency or purely personal recollections, and whether the claim itself is being made by a sitting or former president. The ruling itself seems straightforward; executive privilege arguments get weaker the further you are from office. What the tapes actually contain is the only part that matters, and that answer is still pending.
pending for how long though. the system has a thousand ways to slow-walk anything that might actually matter and somehow always finds the energy to move fast when it's time to prosecute someone without a law firm behind them. if these tapes showed nothing damaging they would have been released already.

He wants to hide the fact he had the ghostwriter write the book in the first place, that's what this is really about. It's the Biden Derangement Syndrome, believe me. Everyone says so.

The legal standard for executive privilege does not extend to a private citizen's memoir project. Biden was not acting in any official capacity when he sat down with that ghostwriter, and the courts have now said as much twice. The effort to block these recordings was never really about privilege; it was about controlling a narrative around cognitive capacity that the media and the Democratic Party spent years suppressing while they propped him up as a viable candidate.
Whatever is on those tapes, the fact that his legal team fought this hard to keep them sealed tells you everything you need to know about their contents. People who have nothing to hide do not spend years in federal court over interview recordings. The transparency argument only ever runs one direction with these people, applied aggressively to their opponents and abandoned entirely when it turns inward.
Release the tapes. All of them. The public was denied an honest accounting of this man's condition during a presidential election and they deserve it now, even after the fact.

They fought this thing TWICE in court and they STILL wouldn't let it go and everybody with two brain cells to rub together knows what that means. If Sleepy Joe was up there sharp as a tack and full of beans they'd a been BEGGIN folks to watch them tapes. They woulda put em on every channel.
And you right about that double standard too brother. You remember when they wanted EVERY tax return and EVERY phone call and EVERY text message from Trump's people and wasn't no executive privilege in the WORLD good enough then. But when it's Biden on tape soundin like he can't remember what year it is all the sudden everybody gotta respect the process.
The whole dang media knew. The whole Democrat party knew. They looked right at us regular folks and said nope he's fine, he's sharp, he's ready. And they lied right to our faces for YEARS. My cousin Vicki coulda seen it plain as day just watchin the man walk up a ramp.
Release em all. Every single one. The American people got a right to know they was puttin up a man who couldn't find his shoes to be the most powerful fella on earth.
